Wondering what exactly a mobile home is, how it's heated, whether it's suitable for year-round living, and what its construction looks like? Below, we've gathered answers to frequently asked questions.
What is a mobile home?
A mobile home is a prefabricated structure built in a factory and then transported as a whole to its final location. Once delivered, simply set it on concrete blocks , point foundations , or a foundation slab, depending on the plot conditions and intended use.
The mobile home has wheels, but it is not a registered vehicle . Therefore, its transport on public roads is only possible through a specialized transport company. It is not possible to move the mobile home on your own.
Depending on the technical solutions used, a mobile home can function as:
- summer house (seasonal),
- year-round house - thanks to appropriate insulation and heating.
What types of mobile homes are available?
We offer several finishing options, so you can tailor your cottage to your individual needs and budget:
- Light - basic functional variant
- Standard - the most frequently chosen, well-balanced
- Premium - for more demanding users
The differences between the variants mainly concern the equipment, finishing standard and available additional options - the construction and insulation remain at the same high level.
What type of heating do we use in mobile homes?
Year-round mobile homes are equipped with modern and proven heating systems that ensure comfort all year round.
- Electric underfloor heating
- Air conditioning with heating and cooling function
- Radiator in the bathroom
- Possibility of installing a fireplace (additional option)
The selection of a specific system depends on the user's needs and the way the house is used (year-round or seasonal).
How is a year-round mobile home insulated?
To insulate year-round mobile homes, we use mineral wool , which is one of the best insulating materials used in construction.
Mineral wool provides:
- very good thermal insulation ,
- good sound-absorbing properties,
- high fire resistance .
Thanks to this, the house maintains a comfortable temperature both in winter and summer.
What is the thickness of the insulation in a mobile home?
Regardless of the chosen variant (Light, Standard or Premium), the insulation thickness remains the same .
- External walls: 15 cm
- Floor: 20 cm
- Roof: 20 cm
Such parameters allow for comfortable use of the house all year round and reduce heat loss.
How much does a mobile home weigh?
Mobile homes are solid structures, so their weight is significant and depends on the square footage and equipment.
- 35 m² house: about 10 tons
- 48 m² cottage with equipment: about 16 tons
The weight of the house is important when planning transport, access to the plot and choosing the appropriate foundation method.
